Event Overview
Our fourth edition of Films & Politics will explore the future of European climate policy in a pivotal moment for the Green Deal. The evening opens with a keynote address and panel discussion, followed by the screening of the award-winning documentary Flow (2024).
Panel Discussion : "A Turning Point for European Climate Policy ?"
Once seen as a landmark framework for climate action and sustainable growth, the European Green Deal now faces serious headwinds—from deregulatory industrial pressures to rising political opposition questioning the cost of the ecological transition.
At the heart of this debate lies the energy trilemma : how can we reconcile climate action, economic competitiveness, and energy security without undermining democratic values or environmental ambition ?
This panel brings together diverse voices from policymaking, civil society, and advocacy to explore :
Can the Green Deal survive in its current form — or must it evolve ?
What are the consequences of climate policy rollback ?
How do we safeguard democratic participation in shaping Europe’s transition ?
What role should civil society play in maintaining a fair, inclusive, and effective climate strategy ?
